How can you tell if a renovation company is delaying the project? And can you speed up the renovation progress? This time, we've prepared a general renovation timeline for you, making it easier to estimate when you can move in!

Renovation Pre-phase: 10 to 15 days

• The pre-phase generally takes 10 to 15 days to select a renovation company and finalize the renovation design drawings.

Tip: If custom cabinets are needed, they can be ordered during the pre-phase, as they usually take 20 to 35 days. Ordering early can prevent delays due to lack of stock.

Renovation Mid-phase: 30 to 40 days

The mid-phase of renovation involves more aspects, broadly categorized into plumbing modification, wet trades, carpentry, and painting:

• Plumbing modification is usually done first, determining the location of electrical outlets and water inlets/outlets, which takes 4 to 7 days.
• Afterward, wet trade workers will level the floor and walls, perform waterproofing, and lay tiles, which takes 12 to 30 days.
• Carpentry and painting are usually done together because some carpentry requires paint "finishing" (i.e., filling gaps); carpentry mainly involves making interior suspended ceilings and TV feature walls. Carpenters will also perform "re-measurement" at this time to ensure furniture dimensions are still accurate after the wet trades.
• When the painting work is mostly complete, carpenters will begin installing custom-made furniture, wooden doors, door frames, etc., which takes 10 to 20 days. The exact duration depends on the size of the unit and the amount of furniture.

Tip: If you need to order tiles, bathtubs, etc., you can order them 14 to 20 days before the mid-phase of renovation to avoid delays in wet trades; additionally, to coordinate with carpentry progress, you can also order wooden doors 20 to 30 days in advance, and wooden flooring at least 7 days in advance.

Renovation Post-phase: 3 to 5 days

• Towards the end of the renovation, flooring is laid, and doors, windows, sanitary ware, and hardware fittings are installed. This part is relatively quick, taking approximately 3 to 5 days to complete.

In summary, the entire renovation project will take at least 2 months, provided all renovation materials are available.
