The entire metal body is crafted from 6063 aluminum, undergoing 24 manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, polishing, anodizing, and sandblasting, to create this robust metal art piece: the Q9.
A Fully Customizable Keyboard
To build a fully customizable keyboard, we've designed every component for easy assembly. This allows you to customize and tune every component to your liking.
Double Gasket Design
The double gasket design is a brand new innovative structure in the industry. In addition to the gaskets on the plate, we've added silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to significantly reduce sound resonance between the metals and dampen the noise from the affected metal. This design allows the keyboard to maintain the flexibility of the gasket structure and improve the overall typing sound.
Epic Core Inside the Keyboard
The new ultra-low-power MCU Arm architecture is powerful and equipped with 128K Flash, providing more flexibility for developers. With a polling rate of up to 1000 Hz out of the box, there's no latency for competitive gaming.
OSA Profile Double-Shot PBT Keycaps
For the new double-shot PBT keycaps, we've created a new profile. It has a similar height to the OEM profile and an SA-like shape. We call it OSA (OEM Spherical Angled) keycaps. PBT keycaps will offer excellent oil resistance, enhanced typing feel, and prevent legend fading.
Switch Layouts Between macOS and Windows
The Keychron Q9 is designed with the Mac user experience in mind, while also retaining compatibility with Windows devices, featuring a system toggle switch and a set of extra customizable keycaps for both Windows and macOS systems. Now you can store two different layouts on your keyboard, one for each system.
Programmable Knob
The premium rotary encoder is designed to enhance your creative workflow, allowing you to easily customize your favorite keys and macros on the knob via VIA software.
You can easily customize the Q9's knob to your desired key or macro commands, such as: zoom in/out, adjust screen brightness, brush size, volume, select video clips or photos, or backlight hue.
Q9 Program with QMK and VIA
With full QMK and VIA support, you can easily program and remap every key on the keyboard. The open-source firmware means endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, shortcuts, backlight effects, and even the knob.
Get Q9 Keyboard Mapping Working on VIA
To get started, follow these steps: download the corresponding keyboard mapping JSON file below, open VIA, enable "Show Design tab" on the "Settings" tab, and then drag the JSON file into the "Design" tab on VIA to get the Q9 keyboard mapping on VIA.
Since the Q9's VIA code is still awaiting approval from Github, it is not yet automatically recognized, and you need to manually download and import the Q9 keyboard mapping.
Note: Only the correct JSON file can be imported. Please find the correct version of the keyboard mapping JSON file that matches your keyboard for download.

Hot-Swappable Support
The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so you can install or change the switches without soldering. The PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches.
South-Facing RGB LED Lights
South-facing RGB LEDs are designed to better illuminate the keyboard's backlighting from the typist's perspective, and to install premium non-shine-through PBT keycaps. South-facing RGB also won't be interfered with when users install OEM or Cherry profile alternative keycaps on the keyboard.
Note: The Q9's top case has sharper corners, making it more compatible with third-party keycaps.
Pre-Lubricated Gateron G Pro Switches
Optimized molded switches with more precise positioning and less wobble will undoubtedly enhance the feel at your fingertips. The fully assembled Q9 version comes with factory pre-lubricated Gateron G Pro switches, guaranteeing a smoother travel experience for you.
New Screw-In PCB Stabilizers
The screw-in design increases stability and makes it easier to change and upgrade. The precise manufacturing process makes the stabilizers more stable and less wobbly. The typing experience for large keys (space bar, Shift, Enter, Delete) is now more stable and smooth. The Keychron Q9 also supports third-party stabilizers, including Cherry or Durock.
ANSI and ISO Layouts
The ISO layout is widely used in Europe, while the ANSI layout is widely used in the rest of the world.
Note: If you live in Europe, we recommend purchasing the "Barebone ISO" version with corresponding ISO keycaps. The "Barebone ISO" is suitable for all ISO keyboard countries such as the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, etc.
