The Q2 is a fully customizable mechanical keyboard with a compact layout that takes your typing experience to the next level. With a 65% layout, full metal body, and double-gasket design, the Q2 is designed for personalized experience and premium typing comfort.
Crafted and Compact
To create a more compact and smaller keyboard for your desk, we bring you the Q2. The entire body is crafted from 6063 aluminum, undergoing 24 manufacturing processes including CNC machining, polishing, anodizing, and sandblasting to create this work of art.
Fully Customizable Keyboard
To build a fully customizable keyboard, we designed every component to be easily assembled. As such, you can customize and fine-tune every component to your liking.
Double Gasket Design
The double gasket design is a new innovative structure in the industry. In addition to the gaskets on the plate, we added silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to significantly reduce the sound resonance between metals and lower the noise from impacted metals. This double gasket structure allows the keyboard to maintain the flexibility of a gasket structure and improves the overall typing sound.
Programmable Knob
The premium rotary encoder is designed to enhance your creative workflow, allowing you to easily customize your favorite keys and macros with the innovative VIA software.
You can easily customize the Q2's knob to your desired key or macro commands, such as zooming in/out, adjusting screen brightness, brush size, opacity, volume, selecting video clips or photos, or backlight hue.

OSA Profile Double-Shot PBT Keycaps
For the new double-shot PBT keycaps, we have created a new profile. It has a similar height to OEM profile and a SA-like shape. We named it OSA (OEM Spherical Angled) keycaps. The PBT keycaps will provide excellent oil resistance, enhance typing feel, and prevent legend fading.
Switch Layout Between macOS and Windows
The Keychron Q2 is designed with the Mac user experience in mind, while still maintaining compatibility for Windows devices, featuring a system toggle switch and a set of extra custom keycaps for both Windows and macOS systems. You can now save two different layouts on the keyboard, one for each system.
Program the Q2 with QMK & VIA
With full QMK and VIA support, you can easily program and remap every key on the keyboard. The open-source firmware means endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, shortcuts, backlight effects, and even the knob.
The new ultra-low-power Arm Cortex-M4 32-bit STM32L432 MCU is powerful and equipped with 128K Flash, which will provide more flexibility for developers.
To get started, please download the appropriate keymap JSON file below, open VIA, enable "Show Design tab" on the "SETTINGS" tab, drag the JSON file to the "DESIGN" tab on VIA to make the Q2 keymap work on VIA. Since the VIA code for Q2 is still awaiting approval from Github, it is not automatically recognized yet, so you will need to manually download and import the Q2 keymap.
Note: Only the correct JSON file can be imported, please find the correct version of the keymap JSON file corresponding to your keyboard for download.
Hot-Swappable
The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so you can install or change switches without soldering. The PCB supports 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches.
South-Facing RGB LED Lights
The south-facing RGB design is made to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist's perspective, and is installed with premium non-transparent PBT keycaps. The south-facing RGB is also free from interference when the user installs Cherry-profile alternative keycaps on the keyboard.
Pre-Lubed Gateron G Pro Switches
For a premium typing experience, every detail matters. The optimized mold with more precise positioning and less wobble will definitely improve your fingertip feel. Coupled with factory pre-lubed Gateron G Pro switches, a smooth travel experience is ensured.
New Screw-In PCB Stabilizers
The screw-in design increases stability and makes changes and upgrades easier. The precise craftsmanship makes the stabilizers more stable and less wobbly. The typing experience on large keys (space bar, shift, enter, delete) is now more stable and smooth. Keychron Q2 also supports third-party stabilizers, including Cherry or Durock.
